When do I need to use a primer?
Almost always, but here are several occasions where a primer is required. Any surface that hasn’t been previously painted will always need a primer. If the surface is glossy, stained, has residue from wallpaper glue, or you are going for a drastic color change, we would recommend using the appropriate primer. Each kind of different surface has its own primer e.g., masonry, metal, wood, drywall, etc.
What kind of prep work is done for interior painting?
n a typical interior painting project we will repair any damage to the walls, ceiling or trim. These repairs will be sanded smooth and sealed with a latex primer. Gaps between the trim and the wall will be caulked. Any woodwork that is to be painted will be scuffed and cleaned.
Are there guarantees on your services?
We guarantee the price on our painting quotes. We’ve been at this long enough, if we miss something it’s on us.
Can I paint vinyl or aluminum siding, what about bricks?
Yes to all three. However, vinyl siding can’t be painted darker that it was originally, as it will absorb more heat from the sun and may warp. As long as the surface is clean, dry, and sealed with the proper primers, any of those surfaces can be part of an exterior painting project.
